Nursing students join UNISON

A Fresher's Faye was held over two days on the 17th and 18th September 2003 at the Suffolk College in Ipswich. Over 80 nursing students out of a total intake of 130 signed up to join UNISON with more to follow in the post and for just £10 per year, students get all the benefits from joining UK's largest public service trade union. Also given out were the answers to many questions, medical dictionaries, stress bee's and a bag full of information and other goodies.

UNISON is campaigning for all nursing students to be paid a decent wage throughout training instead of a pathetic bursary which forces many to work part time evening jobs simply to survive and keep out of debt.

A busy time for Debbie and Andrea as Harry finds time to pose briefly before another wave of student's sign up

Near the end of the session there were many happy students who will now be contented members in UNISON

It's time to nip off before the traffic gets heavy.
