This is an invitation to all Trade Unions, Trades Councils and Health Campaign Activists in the East of England, regarding NHS Together Conference which is to be held in Cambridge on 3rd March 2007.

UNISON branches have been heavily involved in various campaign activities and we would hope nominations from representatives will be attending the conference and share in the debate about the future of the NHS in the East of England and what we can do to stop the future level of cuts and services in jobs that are taking place at the present time.

Arrangements for nominations are through respective unions such as UNISON and if you would like to attend or nominate people to attend, I urge you to do so and fill in the registration form but please make sure that you fill in the form and e mail or post the same to Andrea Barker or myself. The return address' are on the application form.

The purpose of the conference is to co-ordinate activity and to make sure that individual campaigns are fully aware of the broader based issues that we are likely to face with the Strategic Health Authority’s review of acute services and other initiatives.

It is vitally important that we have a good turn out on 3rd March to indicate to Government and to the East of England SHA that there is huge opposition out there to the plans they have to “rationalise” services in the East of England in order to reach financial balance.

With best wishes

Yours sincerely

Geoff Reason
